Business Development Representative

Your Role

Polara is looking for someone who thrives on the challenge of finding new clients, opening doors, and turning an initial contact into a business opportunity. We are seeking to add to our sales team a proactive, energetic, and ambitious person who enjoys starting conversations and creating opportunities where others see obstacles. 

As a Business Development Representative and Sales Prospecting Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to prospect new business opportunities by building a pipeline of qualified prospective clients and generating sales opportunities for the Sales team. You will identify the right companies to target, contact decision-makers, and qualify opportunities in order to schedule relevant meetings for the commercial team. You will play a key role in the company’s growth and will often be the first point of contact with our future clients. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identify and target new prospective customers. 
  • Conduct prospecting activities through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other outreach channels. 
  • Generate interest among prospects and establish initial business relationships. 
  • Qualify prospects by assessing their needs and the potential of sales opportunities. 
  • Schedule qualified meetings for the Sales team. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect information in the CRM. 
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified opportunities. 

Candidate Profile 

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, prospecting, inside sales, or a similar role 
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence on the phone 
  • Ability to quickly build trust 
  • Dynamic, persistent, and results-driven 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively 
  • Comfortable using technology tools and CRMs (an asset) 
  • Experience with LinkedIn and prospecting tools (an asset) 
  • Excellent professional proficiency in both French and English is essential, both written and spoken, as you will be required to communicate with clients located across North America. 
  • Valid driver’s licence and availability for occasional travel

Project Coordinator

Your Mission

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Coordinator oversees the deployment of charging infrastructure—from identifying fleet charging needs to commissioning equipment at the client’s site. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all project‑related tasks.

You will act as the main liaison between the client, internal technical teams, and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the expected quality standards.

The selected candidate will become a key member of a team dedicated to developing, deploying, and operating numerous EV charging sites across Québec.

Your Role

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Planning deployment activities for commercial fleet charging infrastructure.
  • Understanding and analyzing client operations to define charging requirements and technical criteria for tailored solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinating and tracking the production of engineering drawings and specifications with the engineering team.
  • Overseeing construction and installation work, managing suppliers, and coordinating their interventions through commissioning.
  • Conducting technical site assessments and on‑site supervision when required.
  • Managing client expectations and ensuring smooth communication between clients and internal teams.
  • Providing technical expertise to support Polara’s sales activities.
  • Preparing client presentations, technical memos, and project reports.
  • Coaching clients to ensure proper operation of deployed infrastructure.
  • Promoting and sharing industry best practices in project management and control.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the organization’s technical knowledge base.
  • Performing any other related duties.

Desired Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing and delivering technical projects.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers.
  • Consulting engineering experience (asset).
  • Experience in mobility and/or transportation electrification (asset).
  • Proficiency with MS Office, project management tools (e.g., MS Project, SharePoint), and CRM/ERP systems; intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Bilingualism required. Advanced professional English is essential due to frequent communication with clients, suppliers, and partners outside Québec.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
